Fetal monitoring is an important measure to keep pregnant women and fetuses healthy. Electronic fetal heart rate monitoring is one of the clinical measures most widely used.Probes of traditional fetal monitor are connected to monitor host by electric cables.But entangling of those electric cables brings huge inconvenience and serious psychological influence to pregnant women,and it is disagree with special cases such as long time monitoring and underwater delivery,etc.In addition,one to one monitoring of current fetal monitor leads to low efficiency. Therefore,the major content of this paper is to realize Multi-channel Cordless Fetal Monitor System,which can monitor four pregnant women simultaneously.By comparing multiple short-distance wireless communication technologies,nRF24E1 chip of Nordic company is determined as the communication module in this paper.The hardware and software of Multi-channel Cordless Fetal Monitor System are designed basing on single channel system.The tasks in this paper are as followings:●The requirement of low power and miniaturization can be satisfied by using nRF24E1 as wireless communication module.●The SEND-ACK mode is used in the communication software,and it is benefit to the reliability of the system.●Data transmission between PC host and four cordless receiver modules is realized by two full-duplex serial ports of W77E58.●Test software platform is established for hardware to ensure its reliability.●Traditional monitor host is converted to new form based on PC,so the monitoring system can realize better display,file storage and printing functions.Preliminary clinical tests with small sample have been taken by this cordless fetal monitor system.Nevertheless further tests with large sample should be continuing.
