The railway, urban railway transportation has entered into a new period with the rapid economical development in China. But the working perfoemances in the wheel-rail system becomes more and more complicated and the wear problems become more and more serious by the reason of the increasement of the passenger trains' speed and the freight trains' load.These problems cause huge economical loss of the railway transportation every year.A finite element model of wheel, rail and turnout junction contact was established to solve the wheel tread groove wear problems.The model used the method of parametric quadratic programming combined with the multiple sub-structure technology.The software JIFEX which is China's own research was also used to build the model. Specific research was devided into the following four aspects:(1) A dynamics model of the space vehicle-rail coupling system was established.This model was used to caculate the wheel-rail interactive force ,wheel-rail shifting angle , transverse displacement and the relative transverse displacement of wheel-rail contact area under the different conditions of passing a straight line or a curve.(2)Analysis of the wheel-rail contactWheel-rail contact models were established respectively according to the subway vehicles' wheel and rail actual geometry dimension ,different loads (including braking force) and the relative position of wheel and rail. According to the wheel-rail contact force and stress, the effects of all factors were analysed in the wear process.(3) Analysis of the wheel and turnout junction contactWheel, frog and guard frog contact models with transverse forces in different velocity were established to analyse the contact situation when passing the turnout junction. According to law of the wheel-rail contact force and stress variety, the effect of the turnout junction was analysed about the groove wear.The effects of all factors were analysed in the groove wear process when passing the turnout junction.(4) Based on the research above, the fundamental reasons of the wheel tread groove wear were analysed and the next step of research direction was positive.
