The hydro turbine is one of the most important equipment in electric producing. The safe and steady operation of the hydro turbine is the key to the safety operation of the water-electricity factory, the quality of the electricity and the important social and financial benefit in the field of electricity operation cost. Although the traditional scheme maintenance can ensure the safety operation of the hydro turbine, it is unnecessary to repair it when the hydro turbine is under regular condition.This thesis reviews the technology of the inspection of hydro turbine and the actuality and development of the technology of the fault diagnosis system. Compare the merits and the defects of the hydro turbines. The former fault diagnosis system uses PCI interface to transfer data. Based on the conditions discussed above, this article propounds a condition based monitoring and fault diagnosis system based on Ethernet network.This system includes two parts: the collecting and the analysis module and the monitoring and fault diagnosis module. The system uses the high precision sensors to sample signals and making use of the W3100 protocol chip to transfer data through the LAN. Making use of the TMS320F2812 as the main controller to control the data sampling and transferring. The monitoring and fault diagnosis system implement the functions of storage, search, deleting and so on with the help of SQL Server database. Use VBA to create report form in the form of Word. The whole monitoring system is developed in the platform of C++ Builder integrated development environment. And it includes abundance charts such as Bode chart, Waterfall chart and so on and it also makes the system graphic. The fault diagnosis system uses wavelet analysis to increase the resolution in the low-frequency area. The expert system provides add function, delete function and modify function.
