A Study On Environment Colour Design In Figuring The Urban Characteristics

Color is the most sensitive and the most plentiful expression in human's visual image. The delivered information from colors to people cannot be replaced by any other mediums. During the human's history, color has been known for a long time, but it wasn't raised to the level of theory. As a research topic, it just begins to study from the modern times. For the colors in each city, they have special development history and are influenced by many factors such as the natural factor, the manual factor, the historical factor, the cultural factor and the social factor, so different cities in a country, a district and even to a race have different urban morphology and form different urban visual image naturally.The urban environmental design reflects the characteristics of a city and it becomes a very important researching project. Because the color has strong locality and nationality, the color design plays an important role in the urban environment design. It is a very important part that how to use the urban environmental color to express the cultural connotation to a city and to acquire the regional development under the globalizationThere is few works about the urban environment color(UEC) study, so the paper focuses on UEC study and gives the basic theoretical frame to the study through analyzing the regional characteristics of UEC and the special city image that influenced by UEC. Also the paper puts forward UEC design method that can reflect the regional characteristics systematically and scientifically through analyzing and comparing scientifically the relative researching achievements both from abroad and at home. Based on the above analysis, the paper takes Zhenzhou as the example to have a specific research and to try the conceptual color design in order to enlighten the study on UEC in China.The paper includes the following four parts:The first part puts forward the train of thoughts of the study based on the regional characteristics factor of UEC and elaborates the theoretical foundation concerned with UEC study. The second part analyzes the UEC design factors that influence figuring the urban regional character, those factors includes natural factors and humanity factors.The third part points out the relevant designing methods focuses on the regional character of UEC. The part also summarizes the theoretical and practical experiences and lessons of UEC both in abroad and at home, explore the UEC design model that is fitting for the character city construction in the new century according to the principles in the regional special factors of UEC and different regional characters in different cities.Based on the regional character factors of UEC, the fourth part analyzes the reasons which form the regional character of UEC, traditional views of the regional character of UEC and the transformation of the regional character of UEC in Zhenzhou. At last, the part points out the new ideas about inheriting ad updating the traditional color and gives a conceptual design to the ancient commercial city and its surrounding areas based on the above researching and analyzing.
