With the rapid development of theory and technology, Lead-Rubber-Bearing (LRB) has been widely used in buildings and bridges. But we only can find a few LRB in long span roof structures, and researches on this can hardly find too. In this thesis, LRB was put between the top of pillar and the bottom of roof practically, and then a model based on this is modelled and the study of the seismic response in this model was done. The content is organized as follows:Firstly, two models which are based on a building gymnasium were modelled by the ANSYS software. The two models respect consider modelled with LRB and not. Then an analysis about the mode of this model was done, and a comparison between the two aspects was done at the same time.Then, a large number of nonlinear time-history analyses of gymnasium system with lead rubber bearings (LRB) and not were conducted use the ANSYS software. This thesis chooses three seismic waves according to the situation of the building, and then conducts nonlinear time-history analyses with these three choices. It considers two directions seismic action in calculate. The results of internal force were got and compared; it shows that the system with LRB can enormously decrease the impact of earthquake on the structure.Finally, considering the spatial variability effects of ground motions, seismic responses analysis of the model with lead-rubber-bearings (LRB) is conducted in this thesis. The seismically isolated long-span roof with LRB is calculated under uniform excitation and multiple excitations respectively, and the response in these cases are obtained and compared.
