Clutch is located between the engine and transmission which is the system component directly connected to automotive engine in the transmission system. In the course of working there are a lot of heats generated during the friction couple of clutch due to skidding relatively on the friction surface. If these heats can not be given off timely, a very serious impact will be had on the clutch's working normally. So it is a very important significance to analyze the temperature field in the clutch working process.On the base of reading a great deal of correlative materials at home and abroad, the author analyzed the process of the clutch working in the different environment temperature conditions. Making use of the large scale finite element software ANSYS, the writer established three kinds of pressure plate and friction sheet's finite element models from three different supplying companies and applied transient temperature field analysis to these models. Finally, By analyzing and comparing temperature cloud field, axial and radial temperature curve adding the important nodes' temperature curve throughout the entire time course of three companies' pressure plates and friction sheets ,the writer draw a conclusion which is a match in the real situation.This article is divided into seven chapters mainly discussing the analysis process of the clutch's transient temperature field and analyzing the three companies'tempreture cloud pictures. In the first paper, the influence of friction couples on the friction heat, the study's significance of the friction heat and the current research on the clutch temperature field are introduced; Secondly,the finite element method, the basic equation of thermal analysis and heat transfer modes are demonstrated. And these lay a theoretical foundation to the back thermal analysis; In the third chapter the convection heat transfer coefficient's method of the pressure plate and friction sheet is detailed. How to calculate and ascertain the clutch's heat flux and coefficient of heat partition is introduced in the forth chapter; Next, According to the process of finite element analysis the clutch is demonstrated fully from establishing models, grid-assigned to identify the boundary conditions; At last,tempreture cloud pictures and the key nodes'tempreture curves of three companies' pressure plate and friction sheet are compared and analysized. At the same time, the results of the analysis are compared to the actual failure of three companies' clutches so the accuracy and effectiveness of the temperature field's analysis are verified.In this paper, the results for the temperature field lay a foundation for having consecutive heat and stress coupling analysis and finding a solution to improve optimization of the clutch in the next step.
