As the development of composite foundation theory and technology, many new concepts have been put forward, and the form of composite foundation has changed a lot. Long-short-pile composite foundation is one of the typical new composite foundations which have been used in the design of construction.Firstly, this paper gives a summary of the developing situation and basic theory of composite foundation, reviews the research status of long-short-pile composite foundation. It compares some results of bearing capacity of composite foundation and theory of settlement calculation, and analyses theirs advantages, disadvantages and scope of application.Secondly, in order to choose the proper constitutive model, this paper analyses constitutive model have been used for soil recently, and compare with each other. And it also studies the uses of finite element method in geotechnical engineering.Thirdly, this paper uses ANSYS analyses the performance of long-short-pile composite foundation under load. It focuses on the transfer of load and additional stress distribution of pile. It analyses the characteristic of long-short-pile composite foundation such as the stress of pile and soil, settlement, etc. It also studies the influence factors such as length, spacing and diameter of the pile of composite foundation. It emphasizes the effect of cushion.At last, this paper summarizes the results of analysis, proposes optimal method of the design of long-short-pile composite foundation. It gives practical projects a good reference.
