In the process of car development, only taking static strength and stiffness into account is already far from satisfying the demand of designing and using presently. In fatigue testing more than 80% all cracks of components originate from fatigue. Therefore, durability design is vital in car development.In the product development process, is not the best way using the fatigue test to optimize structural of the design. Though it is reliable, at the design stage, especially when the components are too complex or too expensive, as well as the number of the actual situation in the category is too large, that makes it impossible to accomplish the test. But the product of fatigue test and performance of the product can not be separated from each other. The integration of test and analyses are usually more likely to give the best results of the design.The use of computer simulation technology to carry out fatigue life analysis is a prerequisite for fatigue test. This involves various departments such as road test, materials test and so on. Through these test data, the CAE department can do the fatigue life analysis, and at the same time, they can compare the results. This process can also reduce costs and shorten the development cycle; it will make good foundation of durable and reliable analysis.This paper introduces the calculating methods of fatigue damage with CAE of the car body; the fatigue life in the cycle loads and the safety factors prediction. Based on fatigue damage for rear suspension member of truck, the fatigue assessment of body structures is researched.The author applied the fatigue analysis techniques to the product development process for the first time, and also used the measured load applied to the analysis of the model. although the material properties measured with test data have some differences, as a contrast program, its impact is acceptable.
