Reinforced concrete shear wall is the main structural compon -ent.The stiffness and weight of the shear wall is great. The ductility of the concrete shear wall is weak.And the impactness of those disadvan -tageous factors on the seismic behavior of reinforced concrete shear wall is badly. The vertical slits which was set in the midness of the shear wall can greatly improve the seismic behavior.And setting vertical slits can translate the failure pattern of the shear wall from shear-mode into bend-mode.And setting plastic in the shear wall make a series of hole and may decrease the weight of the shear wall.The plastic in the shear wall can improve the keep-warming performance and decrease the energy wasting.Basing on the advantages of the shear wall,three models were designed and fabricated.The low cyclic reversed lateral loading tests on the three models have been carried out.The failure proceeding of the specimens have been represented,and the failure modes,bearing capac -ity,hysteretic characterisics skeletoln curves,ductility and energy dissi -pation was investated.The result of investigation showed that setting vertical slits in the shear wall turn the failure pattern of the shear wall from shear-mode into bend-mode.Under the cond -ition that the bearing capacity decrease slightly,the energy dissipation performance of speci -man 2 and specimen 1 have been improved 21.7 percent and 16 percent separately han the speciman 0.These show that the seismic behavior of reinforced concrete shear wall can be greatly improved if the vertical slits were set well.The ductility coefficient of specimen 1 and speciman 2 are larger than 4.It shows that the ductility of specimen 1 and specimen 2 have excellent ductility.The models were analysed by the finite element method.The simulative models were planed basing on the result of the experime -nt.The calculative results agree with the experimental results.The posi -tion of the earliest crack ,the distributing of crack ,bearing capacity and failure configuration of simulative results agree with the experi -mental results.The factors which impacts the seismic behavior of reinforced concrete shear wall were investigated. The inensity of concrete impacts the bearing capacity of the shear wall greatly.The result of investigation showed that the inensity of concrete and the ratio impacts slightly on the seismic beh -avior of shear wall. Connectors are the key control element in slitted shear walls.And if the connectors were well designed ,the seismic behavior of shear wall can be improved greatly.
