Diesel engine, as a core part of the ship on the power source is the heart of the ship. Only through establishing a high-precision, high-efficiency diesel engine test system, can implement effective monitoring the diesel engine. According to the operating parameters of the diesel engine, we can take effective control and diagnosis, so to improve the efficiency of diesel engine and its reliability. Therefore, the goal of this project is to build a diesel engine-testing, intelligent fault diagnosis of an integrated test bed.At present, most of the domestic diesel engine test beds are designed with traditional test equipments, along with the development of technology, the traditional test equipments shortcomings gradually displayed and they are difficult to adapt to a constant improvement in the precision of the test requirements. At the same time, representatives of virtual instruments for the fifth-generation technology has become a test field test the inevitable trend of development in the diesel engine test, control areas which has been widely used. In order to meet the new era diesel engine test measurement and control system on the growing demands, the paper using virtual instrumentation testing of diesel engine test bench system has been developed, and in previous studies conducted on the basis of the functional expansion and technological improvements.In addition, the diesel engine fault diagnosis, using neural network technology for fault diagnosis is an important development trend. However, domestic research in this area started late, the vast majority of domestic systems are the most widely used application of the BP network, which use the C language, or Calling Matlab toolbox these two neural network programming method to achieve, diagnostic accuracy generally is not high, slow learning, it is difficult to adapt to real-time online learning and diagnostic needs. This paper studies in the current fault diagnosis on the basis of the existing comprehensive feature extraction methods used against diesel engine fault diagnosis, take the fuel system as an example, increase the characteristics of neural network input,and cover more fault states, in improving nerve identification of the network capacity at the same time enriching the fault diagnosis functions. This paper discusses in detail several common neural network structure and algorithm, and introduced the virtual instrument technology to fault diagnosis as the creativity.This paper based on modern test and technology-based virtual instruments, using LabVIEW, Matlab and other software as tools, take industrial control computer hardware as the core, for a certain type of marine diesel engine, designed and developed a relatively complete function for teaching, research dual-use comprehensive testing and intelligent fault diagnosis system of diesel engine. Finally, for the functionality and reliability of entire testing and fault diagnosis system, diesel assessment was carried out and showed that function tested well and higher diagnostic accuracy, stable and reliable operation. The system designed in this paper has met the goal of the test bed.
