Research On The Method Of Speed-limit Based Upon Operate Speed Of Expressway

With the rapid development of China's expressway construction, the miles of mountain highway is also rapidly increasing. Expressway bring conveniece to traffic of mountain, at the same time,the number of traffic accidents are also constantly increasing . In a number of factors causing accident ,speed is one that is important and can not be Ignored. Driving speeding is the main cause of causing traffic accidents.The speed-limit standards of mountain highway could be determined rationally,the highway resources can be used fully and speeding violations can be reduced effectively, and the traffic safety level and standard of service of mountain highway can raised. However, setting speed-limit standards of highway is a complex technical subject, currently there is no uniform standards and methods by which speed limit can determined. On the basis of in-depth analysis on studies of speed limits at home and abroad, the paper make research on the method of speed-limit based uponoperate speed of expresswayThe speed limit based on the operating speed is proved reasonable by analysing on the concept of the different speed and the correlation between speed and by the study on speed limits of expressway at home and abroad .According to the speed limit signs installed,recognition on and psychological characteristics of driver on the information, the stability of vehicle operation and road conditions, the standard of length of speed limit section is drawed; According to the change and deviation of running speed along the highway,the paper conduct sdudy on the method of zoning of speed limit section and speed limit values and check rationality of peed limit values by alignment condition, cross section condition, coordination between operating speed and desin speed and traffic accident. Special section such as tunnel, long gradient and fog district are studyed. The paper also investigated and summed up the speed-limit mesures at home and abroad and their effectiveness and applicability. These research results is an important reference value to establish speed-limit standards and methods of mountain highway in China.
