According to the characators of water-proofing concrete on bridge deck, the text analyzes the problems exist systemicly. Cementitions Capillary Crystalline Water-proofing Materials are introduced to the performence of water-proofing concrete on bridge deck. Constrast to the charactors of different materials, Xypex concentrate and the Admix N-series of Xypex is chosed. Conbined with the demand of water-proofing on bridge deck and the charactors of the materials, the feasibility on application of the materials is discussed.Through laboratory test, the main aspects of capability of normal concrete and concrete used with Xypex are researched. The demand of raw material used in water-proofing concrete on bridge deck is firstly presented. Based on the designation of normal concrete, the ways and principles for mixture ratio design of water-proofing concrete on bridge deck is given. The strength property of normal water-proofing concrete on bridge deck and concrete with the Admix N-series of Xypex is fully studied by the means of strength test,including bending strength,compression strength,cleavage strength,and the equation of reqression between bending strength and compression strength, cleavage strength is given. Then the pavement performance of normal water-proofing concrete on bridge deck and concrete with Xypex is systemic evaluated and the result shows that concrete with Xypex is better than normal concrete, including impermeability, anti-permeability of Cl-, frost resistance. According to the shear test and pull-out test, the paper analyzed the anti-shear strength and anti-pull-out strength of different surface of water-proofing concrete.The result shows that the concrete used with Xypex can be satisfied the demand of the pavement on bridge deck if it is done properly. Through the experimental projects the construction procedure of water-proofing concrete on bridge deck and concrete with Xypex, the technical construction of bridge deck overlays is presented, and the economic and social effects is analyzed.
