In recent years, the proportion of steel structrue buildings has sharply increased in public building because of its distinctive advantages including high strength, low cost, large space, good seismic capbility, high degree of industrialization and easy to impliment the intended buliding form.In this paper, taking the steel structrue project of Baita Airport terminal as an example, some key techniques which deal with the construction of long-span and variable section steel arch system in cold areas are studied, which mainly include follows: manufacture and installation of long-span and variable section arch beams; accurate measure and localization techniques of steel structure ; general techniques which refers to installation of arch foot; horizontal thrust technique about prestressed backstay balance steel arch; installation and testing of the streel stucture; unloading of the tower support and anti-corrosion technology of the steel stucture.In this paper, measures and schemes which can ensure consturction quality are put forward based on the analysis and research of key construction techniques mentioned above, therefore, the technical, economic and construction goals are achieved, which can bring out economic benefits consequently.This study puts forward valuable experiences for similar projects and has great theoretical and practical significance.
