High frequency pulse tube refrigerator has been widely used in the military, space technology, scientific research and other fields because of its compact structure, high efficiency, high reliability and low vibration. In order to further explore the couple relation of the linear compressor and the pulse tube refrigerator, decrease the cooling temperature and increase the cooling capacity at a given temperature, the theoretical and experimental research in this paper focuses on the following aspects:1. The key technology of linear compressor was studied, including the type of the linear motor, clearance seal, flexure bearing and vibration control. By analyzing different types of linear compressor, the opposed move-magnetic linear compressor with spiral flexure spring was selected.2. The design theory and procedure of the high-frequency pulse tube refrigerator and the linear compressor was described.3. Assembling procedure of the refrigerator system was listed in this article. The experimental devices and components of the refrigerator were introduced in detail..4. The experimental study has been conducted. The influence of the charging pressure, frequency, input electric power and valves opening on the performance of refrigerator was studied.5. According to preliminary experimental results, some improvements on the refrigerator system had been carried out. The lowest temperature 14.2K of the second stage has been reached, while the temperature of the first stage was 93.3K.
