Asynchronous motor load is one of the most important loads in power system. They drag mechanical load with different characteristics, whose torque will be varied with the speed or not. There are some loads which change with the speed very slowly and other loads changes drastically in a short time, so their properties are very complicated and accurate simulation is an issue full of complexity and difficulty.Traditional simulation methods are physical modeling, when conducting simulation, its own asynchronous motor parameters and characteristics should be considered firstly, and then the resistant mechanical properties are simulated. In general, similarity is applied in physical modeling which creates models very similar to real asynchronous motor. There are many disadvantages in this method, like consuming a lot of energy, difficult to change parameters and so on.In this paper, a new method of the asynchronous motor digital topology is presented for the asynchronous motor load simulation, the control strategy is analyzed, and Matlab/Simulink module for the simulation is applied. The characteristics of digital asynchronous motor and the one contained in Matlab/Simulink module fit each other very well. This shows that such a simulation method is advisable.Digital asynchronous motor theory and practice is a new application area. It can be applied in dynamic simulation laboratory. It will offer a great benefits if entering into the stage of practical use.
