| As the fast development of steel structure construction , the repair and reinforcement of steel structure becomes an attentive topic waiting to be solved ,and new material such as glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) has been widely applied in the building reinforcement area based on its excellent ability .This paper mainly focus on researching the performance of steel structure which enhanced by GFRP.First of all, this paper analyze the mechanism of the steel structure bond to the GFRP,then caculate the formula below: interface stress ,effective bond length and maximal peel off stress,which may guide the following experiments.What's more , based on the test of each meterial , this paper adopt the "perpendicular method" to carry though a single shear test ,and compare the experimental data to the theoretically caculations .In addition , this paper discuss the influence factors of maximal peel off stress.Finally ,an experiment is done about the flexural performance of the steel beams strengthened by GFRP .Though this experiment ,we could compare the different experimental results (such as the stress and displacement) due to the distinct conditions. In addition , this paper conclude a conclusion that GFRP could obviously improve the performance of the steel structure.These results could benefit the further study concerning the effective bond length and maximal peel off stress . |
