With the development of industry, improvement of living standard and further development of towns and cities, water demand of cities is increasing rapidly. It is hardly to satisfy the water demand of living and industrial manufacture by only using water resources nearby these cities. In order to meet the water demands ensure the normal water services, more and more long distance water transmission projects are founded. Many factors affect the pipeline arrangement of long distance water transmission work, which make the elevation change of the pipeline vary greatly. When water hammer takes place, pressure will decrease in some parts of the pipeline, inspiration, gas release, liquid vaporization and water column separation may happen, while when pressure is increasing in turn, water interception collision may appear and the pressure can be extremely high. These will make the whole water supply system totally unsafe. So analysis water hammer of pumping water supply system correctly, predict its transient processes exactly and rational select the protection plan are very important to the engineering design optimizing and project safe operation guarantee, and have significant meaning and practical value to the water supply and economic development.This paper introduced the pump station hydraulic transition calculating basic principle and methods. Combine the pump station engineering actuality, build up the same model water pump merge under equilateral boundary condition of the water hammer calculation mathematics model, using the computer software to simulate it. Combine the actuality water giving project of Songji analysis and calculate the water hammer accident. And this paper get the superior operation procedure of the multi-function water pump control valve, which could prevent the pump station from going up and the machine from turning in reverse obviously.In this paper, studies have shown that for a long pipeline pumping station, the accident stopped pumping water hammer protection of the borders in accordance with the conditions of analysis, combined with the pipeline arrangement, taking appropriate protective measures, such as the combination of two-stage valve, one-way surge tank, multi-function water pump control valves and other protective measures can be played on the pipeline's protective effect of water hammer. In addition, the complexity of different-diameter pipes for water hammer calculation also has been described. Finally, the current pumping water hammer analysis should be further examined.
