A new type of flight control system (FCS) with high performance, low cost and easy maintenance and its matching ground test system are designed for a certain unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with the participation of the author, as well as the troubles occurring in the field integrated test are analysed and solved.The total structure of the UAV FCS is researched with the improvement of the mainboard of the flight control computer (FCC), the program of the CPLD software and the design of the analog input and output board.For the sake of fast system test and fault diagnosis of the FCS, a ground test system (including test box and monitoring box) is researched and developped, and a signal generator to simulate engine speed and wheel count is designed.To the requirement of the FCC communicating with external devices, the input and output signals of the FCC are classified, then two types of data frames for ground test and telecontrol and telemetry are designed. Based on the hardware of the FCS and the ground test system, the ground test software and the telecontrol and telemetry software are programmed using Borland C++ Builder.The field test and debug of the FCS expended three months. Based on the connection of FCS with airborne devices and ground test system, some problems, such as the interference of inductive-load, the filtering of A/D converter, the oscillation of actuator-loops, common-model interference of serial-communication, etc., are emphatically analyzed and solved. The favorable ground running indicates that the system satisfies the technical target proposed in the contract, and had been checked and accepted.
