With higher requirement for the performance of power supply, the electrical equipments in many industries prefer to apply the inverters to provide high-quality AC power rather than being supplied directly by power grid. These increasing nonlinear loads, especially the rectifier loads, have made harmonic contamination in power grid worse, and brought some influences to the electrical equipments. Thus, higher demands on the inverters have been put forward. The repetitive control has the advantage on restraining periodic disturbance, and has the best steady-state performance when driving rectifier loads. But its dynamic behavior is poor. The current predictive control has the good dynamic behavior. Therefore, multiple control methods can be composed to obtain better output performance.This paper has mainly researched on the application of repetitive control in inverters. PI and predictive control have also been applied to improve the dynamic behaviors of inverter. First, a variety of digital control methods were introduced. In view of the characters of rectifier loads, repetitive control and predictive control are chosen as the researching emphasis. In chapter 2, the reason of output voltage distortion with rectifier loads was analyzed by modeling. The theory of repetitive control and predictive control were also introduced, including the elements and compensator of repetitive control. The design methods of repetitive control and predictive control in inverter were detailed in chapter 3. The design of circuits and control software of dsPIC30F2020 based inverter are presented. The simulation results and experimental results have proved the performance of repetitive control in voltage single loop and double loop in chapter 4.
