Marine steam turbine should have a high set efficiency.It should first match the set efficiency at low load performance and also improve the efficiency of full lcad performance.The marine power steam turbine set can be classified to four basic styles according to the collocating modes of low load stage group as inner pass-by,outer pass-by,accessory cruising,steam turbine and series-parallel.To design large power marine steam turbine,a pilot study should be made first on thermodynamic performance of different large power marine steam turbine sets to ascertain their advantages and disadvantages.On the basis of large power marine steam turbines in common use,with fixed power,rotating speed,operating performance,initial inflow parameters, exhausting condition and the low pressure steam turbine,etc.,the high pressure steam turbine are designed to assembling modes of inner pass-by,series-parallel, accessory cruising steam turbine in present use.The thermodynamic performance analysis and comparison of full load and off-design of these schemes are made, and the scheme suitable for large power marine steam turbine is proposed for the further study.The flow passage setting of inlet valve chest of large power marine steam turbine is also very crucial,and a well designed one can decrease the flow loss effectively and weaken the oscillation and noise of the valve chest.At the same time.the power of the steam turbine set is improved,and the economy and security also improved.On the basis of large power marine steam turbines in common use and former design experience,after designing the inlet valve chest by volume flowrate,the numerical simulation is carried out with the flow passage.Through the analysis of numerical simulation,the pressure and velocity distribution are clear which provides the reference for the future design of the flow passage setting of inlet valve chest.
