Because of action of ocean wave,wind and the other interactions, shipping has complex movement in six degrees. and has a strong random,which affect the ship smooth sailing.So it is necessary to model ship modeling and forecast ship movement attitude, which is very important for smooth sailing and for us to adopt effective control.This paper selecte ship as researching subject, research on ship modeling and predict the ship motion.Firstly, Based on the strip theory, the hydrodynamic mathematical model and state-space models is given for ship transverse motion forced by random sea. It is analyzed that the system stability of motion model.Secondly, Analyze the practicability of periodogram for modeling and prediction of ship attitude motion, meanwhile Analyze problems of using periodogram for modeling and prediction of ship attitude motion and find out the reasons of problems, then improve periodogram algorithm.Finally, Research the movement of the ship forced by random sea and then use improved periodogram algorithm to model and predict shipping movement, meanwhile reach the prediction curves and results and analyze them.Then compare the prediction precision between smooth periodogram algorithm and direct periodogram algorithm,and analyze their complexity and practicality.
