The development of underwater sound transducers covers low-frequency, broadband and deep-submergence with the applications of sonar technology and the demands of military affairs expanding rapidly. Resonator transducer using fluid vibration inner chamber is a typical low-frequency and deep-submergence transmitter.Multi-resonator broadband transducer is given in this paper. The transducer driven by radially poled piezoelectric cylinder achieves broadband transmission by coupling multiple fluid vibrations modes.Equivalent circuit method and finite element method have been studied for theoretical analysis of the resonator transducer. The former is used to analyze Helmholtz resonator and free-flooded cylinder. The latter is used to analyze multiple-mode-coupling vibration by applying software ANSYS. The structure effect of resonators on resonance frequencies and transmitting voltage response of the transducer is studied. The performances of impedance and transmitting voltage response of the transducer are analyzed. Multi-resonator broadband transducer whose dimensions have been optimized can be used within frequency range 3.7-9 kHz with peak transmitting voltage response 132dB, fluctuation within the frequency range is less than 6dB.Multi-resonator broadband transducer was processed and its impedance characteristic and transmitting voltage response were tested. The result shows that the experimental results were well coincide with calculated conclusions getting by software ANSYS.
