With the rapid development of highway transportation in our country, semi-rigid bases stabilized with inorganic binders are widely applied in high grade highways. As a new type of semi-rigid base, Cement-Lime-Flyash stabilized aggregates (CLFA) has a lot of excellencies, such as early-strengthening, high strength, less cracks, early opening to traffic, which benefits in supporting the increasing transportation, especially to the overloading transportation. At the same time, there is no concrete regulation on the desigh and construction of CLFA in present specifications. Without pertinent instruction, design and construction of base have to refer to the regulation of cement stabilized aggregates and lime-flyash stabilized aggregates in practice, it must be much optional. Therefor, it is necessary for us to make the in-depth and systemic researches on CLFA according to its material composition, mechanism of strength forming, mechanics characteristics, pavement performance, and the parameters of design.Starting with the physics and chemistry of each composition of CLFA, the paper makes the research on the mechanism of strength forming. It also makes the systemic researches on the pavement performences of CLFA contrasting with the other semi-rigid bases by laboratory testing, including the mechanics performance, the stabilization, the anti-brushing performance, the anti-fatigue performance, and the shrinking performance. The research results indicate that CLFA has better pavement performences than the other semi-rigid bases universally. The paper also brings forward the evaluating methods and index for anti-cracking performance and studies on the anti-cracking performance of CLFA. Using the method of high-temperature curing, the paper makes laboratory research on accelerated curing of CLFA, and educes the time required under the high-temperature while the strength reaches to 180d strength under the standard curing. By dint of Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), the paper analyses the microcosmic configuration of CLFA. All of the studies above are undertaken to determine the design parameters of CLFA which are brought forward finally in this paper .The result of this research will have an important instructional meaning both in design and construction of cement-lime-flyash stabilized aggregates base.
