The deformation monitoring is becoming more and more important in the fields of practicing and researching of modern survey engeneering. It is significant to analyze and forcast the exact building deformation monitoring in time. The Grey System Theory, which has multi-subject synthesis, intersection and abstraction, manly deals with the uncertain system with small samples. It has its only advantage in the condition of poor information and data, which has been used more and more in deformation monitoring. Considering this requirement, this paper based on the Grey System Theory, using the Grey Model in the Xiaolangdi dam deformation analyze and forcast, The main work and originalities are as follows:1) At first, the present methods of deformation analyze and forcast are analyzed, and the advantages of Grey System Theory in deformation monitoring are compared. Then, the Grey System Theory are analyzed and discussed.2) Secondly, based on the grey forcast and grey modeling, we analyzed GM(1,1)model, residual GM(1,1)model, and the spatial multi-point model, and based on this, using residual correct in spatial multi-point model, explained the residual spatial multi-point model.3) This paper combined with the data sample of Xiaolangdi dam settlement deformation, with the tool of Matlab7, use the four model simulated and forcast the deformation monitoring of Xiaolangdi dam. Compared and analyzed the results, the conclusion has been made, and the reliability and advantage of residual spatial multi-point model has been proved.
