The existing research results demonstrated that Reynolds Number effects of bridge deck's aerostatic force coefficients are essential parameters in the wind resistant design what is possibly impacted by the Reynolds Number effects of aerostatic force coefficients. In order to investigate the Reynolds Number effects of aerostatic force coefficient on the bridge deck response of aerostatic and buffeting, computations were comparatively carried out with following two aspects: aerostatic stability and buffeting response. The static force coefficients applied in these comparative computations were obtained from low Reynolds Number and high Reynolds Number wind tunnel tests respectively. Sutong Bridge was taken as an example to illustrate Reynolds Number effects on wind-induced response. The comparison computations showed that the wind resistant design of Sutong Bridge using the parameters from lower Reynolds Number test was unsafe. Moreover, the potential influence factors were determined through further research. The scope of interest in thesis mainly covers such key points as followings:1) The results of wind tunnel test were fitted into curves implying the relation of aerostatic force coefficient varying with Reynolds Number by Fourier series;2) Considering the difference among the curves of force coefficient at varied Reynolds Number, comparison computation of aerostatic instability were carried out separately at low and high Reynolds Number respectively;3) At completed stage of the bridge, comparison computations about buffeting response were carried out based on the aerostatic force coefficients obtained from low Reynolds Number and high Reynolds Number wind tunnel tests;4) Since the slope of the values of the aerostatic force coefficient curves vary with the Reynolds Number, several comparison computations about buffeting response were carried out with different Reynolds Number.
