The researchers of different countries have done much of the researches ofmechanics characteristics for pile foundation bearing lateral load .The pilefoundations of inshore projects such as ocean flat often bear the remarkable lateralload which combined by the actions of wave load,ice and wind load, etc, the loadwould lead to evident lateral departure. For horizontal loaded pile, P-Y curve canpreferably reflect the non-liner characteristics of pile foundation. This method hasmore superiority than others when the deformation of pile more obviously. Because ofthe P-Y curve has the regional features, so we should establish the P-Y curve by thedifferent geological condition to be suitable in the different foundations.In order to satisfy the project actual need, this article makes an experimentalinvestigation on offshore model pile embedded in silt is carried out under lateral staticloads against the silt foundation of Sheng Li Oilfield, an polynomial interpolationmethod is selected to fit the measured results, advance the calculation method ofsingle pile P-Y curve, which can be used in the silt foundation.In this paper, we study the calculation method of the lateral loaded pilecomprehensively and detailed at home and abroad. An introduction is given to sometheoretical methods commonly used at home and aboard, with emphasis placed on theelastic foundation reaction method and the P-Y curve method as well as theircharacteristics and applicability. Introduce the principle,manufacture process andsuperiority of model experiment. Through analysis the massive tentative dates, weobtain the formula and parameter for the P-Y curve method of the lateral loaded pile,which is suitable in the silt foundation of Sheng Li Oilfield. Based on the experimentresult, discuss the P-Y curves of piles are processing from six factors: pile rigidity,pile diameter,pile length,soil friction angle,soil cohesion,soil unit weight. Finally,contrast with the P-Y curve which used in the actual project.
