The rising time of nanosecond high voltage pulse is very short, just from sub-nanosecond to nanosecond. Its amptitude is very high and electromagnatic interuption is severe, so it raises harsh stander to measurement system. In the measurement system made up with resistance voltage divider, the resistance matching between divider and the other parts in the system influences the result much. Optimization design is carried out based on the simulation, and the facts influencing the divider is studied also. This provides direction to the design of high quality divider. The small voltage divider is designed based on the results we got The main content of this paper include:1.The dynamic performance of the measurement system is discussed and the facts influcing the measurement system is analysed also, such as: resistance matching; high voltage wire; output cable; digital storage osilliscope and so on. If the resistance matching is not considered, the result will be not accurate. It can cause reflection, oscillating and changing of the voltage divider ratio. The principle of resistance matching and common matching mathod is introduced.2. After the compare between several simulation softwares, FEKO is choosed here to simulate the resistance divider.3 .The result of simulation shows that the design structure of divider is very important in order to get ideal waveform. Through analyzing the different structure of resistor divider we have found the conclusion that the front transitional section makes the rising time of waveform prolong, while the back transitional section makes the decline portion of waveform produce distortion. Through optimal design of supporting the overall size resistor divider by HFSS software, analysis shows that measuring voltage standing wave ratio of resistor divider is less than its 1.2 while divider by two narrow, the middle-cone transition. The total length of circumstances is 200 mm. The cone angle before the transition of is 15°. the cone after the transition is 24°, The middle of the cylinder diameter is 75 mm.4. The sample of divider is made according to the result of simulation, and it is also used to measure the performance of divider ratio, time domain resistance, and standing wave ratio in frequency domain. The experience shows that the error of the divider ratio is low, the transmassion performance is very good. It can meet real demand of measurement of high voltage nanosecond.
