A new method is provided to solve optimization problem of electric field for complex apparatus by introducing particle swarm optimization algorithm based on chaos searching into apparatus optimizing design.Compared with other algorithms,this algorithm possesses such advantages as randomicity,omnipresence,disciplinarian and fast convergence velocity and so on.Accurately and reasonable optimization of apparatus electric field with the characteristic of multi-variable,large-calculation and inverse-problem orientation can be quickly obtained by introducing the improved algorithm.In this paper,Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm based on chaos searching and apparatus optimizing design are studied.Main contents are as following.Firstly,Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO) algorithm is introduced in detail,various improvements in its development is generalized,its fundamental application is summarized and its application in engineering optimization is expounded.Secondly,chaos theory with its developments,definition,characters and optimization algorithm are introduced.Using the properties of stochastic,ergodicity and regularity of chaos,the chaos optimization has been regarded as a new technology in different fields.Thirdly,Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm based on chaos searching is introduced.PSO combined with chaos is becoming a new algorithm,because structure of PSO is open and have no contact with optimization.In order to solve early mature problem in PSO,chaos searching is added into PSO.Poor partial searching in chaos and early mature in PSO are solved in PSO algorithms based on chaos searching which pass text of various extreme function.Fourthly,Constraint optimization in chaos-based algorithm is introduced.In order to obtain extreme point in constraint optimization,penalty function method is added into PSO algorithms based on chaos.A satisfied result in constraint function text proved chaos-based PSO algorithms in constraint optimization is validity.Lastly,PSO algorithms based on chaos searching in complex apparatus electric is introduced.This paper introduces finite element method,using PSO method based on chaos searching with finite element electric field to optimize the shape of the GIS disc insulator.By penalty function method,constraint condition problem is solved and relatively nice results are obtained.The calculating results have been shown this method can solve apparatus optimization problem effectively and satisfy practical project demand.
