Electric Power Steering System(EPS) is the forefront technology with energy saving,environmental protection and safety as a whole.In this paper,the configuration and working principle of electric power steering system were analyzed,a set of self-developed electric power steering control system was designed,and tested in real vehicle.Based on the high-performance chip LPC2131(EasyARM2131 development board) with ARM7TDMI-S core,this paper designed the controller,analyzed and selected the system's control strategy,accomplished the design of hardware and software of the controller.In the researching of the system control strategy,the modified curve-line assist characteristic was used in the system,a combination control method bothof fuzzy and digital PID control technology was adopted,and the compensation-related control method was analyzed;In the processing of hardware design,this paper used the anti-jamming technology to optimize the design,and accomplished the design of the signal acquisition and processing circuit,motor drive circuit,power circuit,fault diagnosis circuit and etc;a structured design concept was used in software design, which including the design of the main control program of the system,the A/D acquisition subroutine,the acquisition subroutine of engine and speed signal,and the motor drive control subroutine with PWM,as well as the fault diagnosis and information display subprogram,and in the processing of torque signal,the technology of fault-tolerant was used to optimize the design of the software by the application of redundancy.In this paper,the self-developed EPS control system was tested in real vehicle and the results was analyzed.Test results show that the designed automotive electric power steering control system based on ARM has superior performance in handiness,stability and reliability of steering.So it achieves the design requirement perfectly.
