The DNA and RNA in the cells of a variety of bacteria, viruses, microbes, parasites or other pathogens can be destroyed in the ultra-violet radiation to prevent cells regeneration. So Ultraviolet light have a role to kill bacteria and viruses. Near-infrared is the transmission window of the human body, and it is able to generate a good thermal effect. We can use infrared radiation to treat rheumatoid arthritis, chronic bronchitis, soft tissue injuries, chronic wounds, frostbite, burn wounds and traumatic inflammation, etc. The UV and near-infrared filtered out from high-power light source can be used to treat the counterpart disease with strong effect and little by-effects, no complications, no injury, no pain and no risk of infection. The method is expected to become an important treatment and physical therapy to prevent disease in this century.Wide-wave band treatment instrument researched in this paper is used to treat the corresponding diseases with the ultraviolet and infrared light characteristics, the overall structure of wide-wave treatment instrument is given in this paper, with the detailed design of every part. The main content are as follows:(1) The light system of wide-wave treatment instrument is introduced including the determination of reflective glass surface equation and the cross-section size, the design of combination lens which send the light from reflective glass into the fiber-optic transmission channel, the analysis of principle of fiber-optic transmission light and its energy attenuation, the design of four probes for treatment and the evaluation of energy attenuation of the whole optical system.(2) A group of manipulators for fixating treatment probes are achieved including the derivation of kinematic model of manipulators, the determined of manipulators work space according to the joints arrangement and its motion range, the design of manipulator joints and the mechanical analysis on the manipulators.(3) The control system of wide-wave band treatment instrument is analyzed in details. The whole control system uses hypogynous / epigynous machine structure. In the system hardware design, the epigynous machine is AT89S52 single-chip processing machine with expanding the keyboard, LCD and LED display circuit, output control circuit with PWM accurately controlling the light power and the communication interface circuit. And this paper also introduce the power circuit. In the system software design, This paper introduces software design achieving the functions of wide-wave band treatment instrument in details including the program of keyboard scanner, LCD driver, output light power control by PWM wave output and the communication between hypogynous and epigynous. The main process flow charts and some details of subroutine are given in this paper.
