In this paper, for the problem of wave-load's traditional research and application don't connect closely, studied the wave theory based on the monitoring of ship's movement, combined with current monitoring technology, analysed monitoring tools,sensors' selection and data processing detailedly, analysed the specific application of measured data. Detailed tasks are as follows:(1) From the application's point of view, described most commonly used wave -load theories in the current, including commonly used linear wave theory and nonlinear wave theory, gave a brief research method and the characteristics of theories. by the comparison, proposed the principles of wave theories' selection in a practical engineering application, and summed up the commonly used wave spectrums.(2) For engineering applications' need, analysed required elements of wave in ships' movement-monitoring based on the relative movement of wave and hull structures, derived wave's monitoring problems. Selected suitable wave monitoring methods from so many current monitoring tools: wave laser technology, and proposed errors and the layout.From a long-term point of view of applications, put forward the conversion necessity from relative wave to absolute wave in the monitoring, and studied on this problem, select the suitable method to monitor the ship posture combining with the current two SINS research methods, analysed the choice,errors and layout of monitoring instruments in details.Put forward the formula how to get the real wavelength and wave height based on the data of monitored wave and ship posture.Referening to ABS monitoring regulatory requirements, put forward the data recording measures fit to system designed in this article, give all flow charts of monitoring aspects and data amendment, put forward their respective applications according to the characteristics of monitored data and amended data. (3) From the most noteworthy point of view of ship stability and structural safety , analysed necessary security forecasting projects, put forward concepts of prediction database based on specific ships and trade areas, and analysed possible empirical formula style Jumping out of the traditional means of time-consuming simulation.(4) By comparing each characteristics of ship-based wave monitoring and conventional wave monitoring, proposed the inevitability of establishing wave directional spectrum from Monitored waves based on ship movement in late applications, put forward methods to obtain wave directional spectrum through referencing to literatures and analysing.(5) Prospected applications of the subject in this paper, and proposed theoretical and technical problems in this paper, showed the future research direction.
