The Single phase-to-ground fault happens in the medium/low voltage distribution network with the probability up to 80 percent.The fault line must be detected and the fault point must be located quickly to avoid more seriously fault and destroying devices. This paper introduces a simple and feasible characteristic criterion which provides theoretical support for the development of device of Faulty Feeder,Faulty Location and Automatic Isolation,based on the arc suppression coil grounded system with resistance.In the arc suppression coil grounded system with resistance,the faulty feeder's zero-sequence current is analyzed and simulated by ATP.Then distribution network simulation test physical platform is set up,and the experiment is made.The experiments are used to validate and correct the emulation.It shows that the experiment result is well consistent to the calculation with the error below 5 percent,and the criterion is adopted to 3000ohm Faulty Feeder,500 ohm Faulty Location and 1000 ohm Automatic Isolation.
