A lot of purge gas is produced during industrial production every year in our country.As purge gas includes little combustible components as well as its varying calorific value,it can not be utilized effectively by conventional flame combustion.It is generally accepted by scholars at home and abroad that catalytic combustion is a good way to resolve this problem. In this paper,the purge gas from Yima gas plant was studied by the way of numerical simulation.In this paper,A mathematical model(boundary-layer model) was built through comparative analysis.On the basis of a detail chemical reaction model,numerical simulation for catalytic combustion of methane is performed.The catalytic combustion characteristics based on different physical parameters and initial conditions were obtained.By comparing numerical results and experimental data,the catalytic combustion of methane model was proved to be correct.Then purge gas which included methane,carbon monoxide and hydrogen was studied in micro-channel.The catalytic combustion characteristics of purge gas were obtained by analyzing numerical results,which was useful for practical application.
