Wind power as a kind of green and renewable energy has been received extensive attention in the recent years. The use of wind energy for electric power generation becomes a vital alternative to replace the conventional energy. The technology on wind power generation becomes a research hotspot.Offshore wind power generation has becoming a more and more important research field due to its characteristics. The offshore wind resource is very rich and installing wind generators on the oil platform can offset the costly fuel generally. However, the stability of the power system of oil platform is influenced by many uncertainties after integrating the wind power. We need the stability assessment by simulating to verify whether the wind power expansion can keep the system voltage and frequency stability at a desired level. The simulation work for the feasibility of the wind power generation plant connected to the isolated power system of oil platforms before the constriction of a wind-gas hybrid isolated power system is presented in this paper. The parameters used in the grid modeling are all based on the actual date of the offshore oil platform and the simulation results are very useful for a practical engineering. The main works are summarized as follow:Mathematical analysis and modeling of each component of the isolated grid have been done according to the simple graphics of the gas/wind power supply system of an offshore oil platform. The models of Mars-100 gas turbine generator, transformers, power lines, loads, wind turbine, permanent magnet synchronous generator, frequency conversion circuit and its control system are set up and then the integrated gas/wind power system model in PSCAD are composed. The Stability conditions of the isolated gas power grid are analyzed and the operation of the actual grid is verified by simulating. The feasibility of the wind power generation plant and the ratio of maximum installed capacity of wind power are researched by watching the effects of the isolated gas power grid in the process of planting wind power.Simulations results show that the wind power integration of the power system of an isolated offshore oil platform is feasible and verify that the purpose of saving fuels can be reached by planting the 1.5MW permanent magnet wind turbine synchronous generator which can keep the grid stability. We also know by simulating that three 1.5MW wind turbine generators are the maximum installed capacity of the oil platform grid and the planting of more wind turbine generators will make the grid instability.
