With the development of our society and economy, the inter-regional traffic demands increase quickly and freeway is developed rapidly. Because the flow of freeway on-ramp merges into mainline section, it affects normal operation of on-ramp and the mainline section, then, it brings a lot of problems, such as traffic safety, traffic jam and so on. Therefore, research on traffic control ideas and technologies of freeway on-ramp and mainline section possesses applied value.Relying on Western Traffic Construction Science and Technology Project——Research on Safety and Energy Saving of Hu-Rong-Xi Freeway Tunnel (Group), the thesis research the coordinate control technology between freeway on-ramp and mainline section. In this paper, utilizing methods of theoretical analysis and numerical analysis, firstly, it proposes the idea of coordinate control between freeway on-ramp and mainline section; and then, on the basis of relationship of traffic flow parameters and the concept of degree of safety, degree of safety model of the different state of traffic flow is established; On the promise of safety, it establishes the coordinate control model on using multi-objective programming theory under freeway on-ramp and transportation highly efficiency and the realization environmental effects smallest; finally, it is studied with numerical analysis to analyze the effects of variables at different traffic flow status.To consider the control aim of transportation efficiency and environmental pollution on the degree of safety condition, the paper takes the freeway on-ramp and mainline section as study objects to provide new concepts and ideas on freeway traffic control research.
