Steel high performance concrete shear walls(SHPCW)were made of steel and high performance concrete.They can give full play to the advantages of steel and concrete and have better earthquake behavior,such as ductility and ability of dissipating energy than high performance concrete walls.This paper introduces the SHPCW features,the results of research and study.In the basis of previous studies,this paper studied the following questions.Six samples of SHPCW are constructed and tested under low reversed cyclid lateral loading,study these components' failure process and failure mechanism under the combined effect of the axial force,bending moment and shear force.Analysis the walls' factors such as shear span ratio,axial load ratio and the amount Of horizontal distribution reinforcements are on impact to the failure modes,ductility,hysteretic curves and strength degeneration of those walls.Combined with performance criteria for the classification of engineering structures at home and abroad,the performance level of SHPCW can be divided into three levels, namely serviceability,life-safety and collapse prevention.Based on the experiments and research results of SHPCW in this article,the failure modes and characteristic are analyzed.Then,the limit state of the different seismic performance levels and their dominating parameters are proposed.Finally,the story drift ratio limits of SHPCW are developed for three different seismic performance levels.Based on experiment of SHPCW under low reversed cyclid lateral loading, combined with experimental results of shear capacity of SHPCW by domestic and foreign scholars,with the tensile strength of concrete ft and compressive strength of concrete prescription(fc)1/2,principle of superposition and statistical regression analysis, the calculation formula for shear capacity of SHPCW is obtained.Calculation results in good agreement with the experimental results,so as reference,the proposed calculation formula can be applied in calculation of shear capacity of SHPCW.In this paper,research results will supply experimental data and theoretical basis for seismic-bearing capacity calculation of SHPCW,and provide a precondition for establishment of calculation theory and design method of SHPCW.It will promote the development and application of SHPCW structures in further.
