As the most important locomotive equipment for finishing the production mission of urban rail transit transportation, expensive buying and maintaining cost of train-set takes great percents of the equipment investment. Thus, improving the using efficiency of train-set can reduce the number of train-set which has great importance on reducing the operation cost. However, the research on scheduling of the train-set for urban rail transit in our country are still in exploring, especially in the field of research on the combination with the auto-scheduling of train-set and train work diagram, there are no maturity theories and ready-made system for train-set scheduling.Based on the domestic and foreign research results of railway bullet train-set, firstly, this paper describes the meaning of train-set scheduling, analyses the influence factors of train-set scheduling, establishes the principles and kinds for the train-set scheduling.Then, the mathematic model is constituted to calculate the number and equilibrium coefficient of train-set, particularly describes the restriction conditions and deeply analyzes the difficulties of finding the solution of this model both in theory and in technology, from the view of combining train-set scheduling with train work diagram scheduling, the train-set scheduling problem is divided into two sub-problems: routings making and train-set scheduling based on the routings, comes up with the thought of finding the solution by apply the algorithm of WFS-FB based on the wide first search and assignment strategy.Finally, the model and algorithm above are proved with the "Beijing Subway Operation Management Information System" through the data of No.10 rail line of Beijing urban rail transit. The optimization of both the number and equilibrium coefficient of train-set are proved by the calculation and analysis of solution target, which also proves the validity of the model and algorithm above.
