| Websteel--a new type of steel structure, is one of light gauge steel system, with such many advantages as higher standardizing, assigning space flexible, good performance of the seismic resistant, industrialization producing,short construction period,protecting environment and economizing energy sources etal. This kind of structure has been used mostly in low storey residential bui- lding for20 years in North America. It agrees our national estate policy applyi- ing Web steel tomultiple-story residential building. Web steel has good future in China.However,There is no design software and code for this kind of struc- ture. Testing and analysis are needed.Websteel studs are divided into 2 parts: the single-piece studs and the square studs. The square studs are mostly used in the corners and structures that carrying concentrated forces. In this paper, finite element researches and formula analyses are done on basis of the static tests .The following contents are involved:First,according to the results of the static tests, the wrecking mode of websteel studs is bend一buckling. The theory of built—up member under pressure is used in calculating the ultimate load car- rying capacity of the 4 samples. The calculating results match the test result, which shows it's appropriate to describe the websteel system studs as built一up studs, and it's feasible to calculate the ultimate load carrying capacity using the theory of built-up member under pressure.Second,the 4 samples are simulated using the finite element software SAP. The ultimate load carrying capacity and wrecking situations of the web- steel studs are reviewed. According to the comparing of ultimate load carrying capacity in finite element analysis, calculating and static tests, the results are matched, which shows that, it's feasible to simulate websteel studs under press using finite element analysis.Third, compared the ultimate load carrying capacity in finite element analysis as a reference,considering the thickness of square steel pipe thickness, diaphragm effect etc. |
