With the development of science and technology and the improvement of the modernization level of traffic management, intelligent traffic management has been the hot spot of research and application. The conception of the Intellectual Traffic System is to guarantee the security of the road traffic and to make the road transportation reach the optimum disposition with the advanced information technology and communication technology. What the intellectual traffic is studied is mainly studying the characteristic of each regional traffic accident of the road, the factors of people or vehicles or roads that cause the traffic accidents, the countermeasures that can improve the safety of road traffic, etc..Data mining is a new technology that can search out the forecasting information hided in the large database or data warehouse. Association rules are used for mining the interesting association and correlative connection between items from mass data, and focus on concluding the relation of data in different fields and fining out the dependent relationship of multi-domain that meet the given threshold of confident and support. Association rules mining are advanced by Agrawal and Theother in 1993. First the Purpose is analyzing the relation of items in transaction database; later investigator improved and extended the Prototype of question. At Present, association rules technology has been applied to business, telecommunication, finance, agriculture, medical treatment and so on. It has brought a good effect.The increase in the number of urban vehicles has led to the frequent occurrence of traffic accidents. Whether we can analyze those accidents correctly in the past will directly determine the avoidance of future ones of the similar kind. The technology that this text studies belongs to the Intellectual Traffic System. This text adopts the research approach that consists with the theoretical research, the algorithm experiment and the practical application closely. According to the Ministry of Public Security's standard database, system disposes the systematic environment to develop, and utilizes improved multi-dimensional Apriori algorithm. System utilizes the traffic accident data about the urban area of 200, which provided by the Center of Traffic Control in Linzi, to test. According to the association rules, it utilizes the improved multidimensional Apriori algorithm to find the potential and valuable laws from the database which records the data of traffic accidents, which is used to guide the administrative decisions of the traffic, to stop potential accidents, to reduce accidents to take place, and to protect people's life and property.
