The development of phasor measurement unit(PMU) promotes transient stability prediction greatly.There is a thorough study about transient stability prediction based on practical complex power model in this paper.Considering that coherence identification generator clusters directly affects the accuracy of transient stability prediction,this paper proposes a new coherence identification generator clusters method- the ratio of accelerated kinetic energy.The new method has a simple original and objective conclusion,and it has high calculation speed and a good performance online.This paper also puts forward new criteria that can calculate the margin of transient stability.This criteria also has high calculation speed and it is influenced lightly by the parameters,system model and operation state.And the differential value of the criteria could eliminate the Brownian motion effects in transient stability prediction well.The differential value could increase precision of transient stability prediction well.
