During navigation of ships in waves, its structure would be destroyed because of some impact of external factors .So the research on ships' moving after opening the compartments of ships will be very important in the theory and practical value. In this paper, starting from the time-domain study of wave theory, the research is focused on the effects of ship motion because of the flooding water. Frequency domain methods is used to solve the added mass and damping coefficient according to linear theory . Meanwhile, damping coefficient is transformed to be hysteresis function and is calculated in damaged time-domain equation of motion. The mature model of damaged ship at home and abroad is used for numerical calculation. Then, the movement of damaged ships in waves should be researched and forecasted. In this paper, first of all, it established motion model about damaged flooding water.Damaged compartment and flooding water model is coupled with moving of ship ,which makes it very difficult to set up precise model. But if we choose the simple slightly waves and only consider the impact of the main factors for future simplification, the freedom equation of the intact case could be improved to get motion equation of damaged ship in waves for effective simulation..Meawhile, according to the deep water method, it derived equations of motion under the condition of damaged ship. The paper discussed rolling motion equation and researched preliminarily the damaged motion in time-domain.In this paper, the research work is in favor of in-depth study on movement prediction of damaged ships and is also important to the study of damaged stability in waves in the next.
