With the continuous growth of the national economy,demands for electric power are increasing day by day.Under Guidance of energy saving and emission reduction in home and abroad,a lot of large capacity supercritical and ultra supercritical power plants have gone to operation one after another.Huge amounts of new ferritic and austenitic stainless steel material has been used in those power plants'heating surface.Some material's antioxidant and anti-corrosion capacity hasn't been tested in a long time because of its short applying time.Some problems,such as oxidation corrosion and oxide skin's exfoliation maybe occur in abnormal working condition.This paper introduces the final-stage superheater tube burst accident of #8 boiler of Shenhua Guohua Taicang Power Plant resulting from overheating and large amount of oxide skin's exfoliation and blockage,and analyzes the mechanism and harm of ferritic oxide skin's generation,exfoliation and blockage,and roundly analyses the basic situation of the boiler in view of security and economy.It summarizes experiences and lessons in the aspects of boiler material selection, design,manufacture,operation,repair and maintenance,and finally puts forward specific measures and suggestions on how to prevent and control the peel-off of oxide skin.
