Environmental geotechnical engineering is an emerging intersectant subject which constituted by environmental engineering and geotechnical engineering. In recent years, with the development of urbanization ,the effects to the surrounding environment in the process of foundation pit excavation have been attached importance by more and more scholars.In this paper, the research of monitor the effects of the environmental geotechnics has been carried out. Linking to the project reality, through some kinds of surveying technology, the real-time and the comprehensive monitoring is realized. Aim at this, the paper discusses the following aspects:1. To discuss the environmental geotechnical problems in the foundation pit excavation and research situation of monitor and early warning to the effects of environmental geotechnics.2. To introduce the monitoring technology of the foundation pit excavation and demonstrate the purpose, the significance, the contents and the method of the monitoring.3. To analyze the monitoring data and confirm the early warning value. To introduce the common predict model of settlement monitoring.4. Wutiejiayuan Residential Area Project is taken as engineering case and an application of monitoring in situation is realized. To work out a series of feasible and effective monitoring scheme. The condition and change of project environment are controlled in time. The basic requirements of monitoring foundation pit deformation and implementary process of monitoring work are concluded.5. According to the analysis of the monitoring data, which demonstrated by graphs. The result shows that surface settlement, horizontal displacement and the tilt of undersoil have a large value in the beginning of excavation. With the accomplishment of support, the deformation values become more stable gradually. And measures of logarithmic fitting and polynomial fitting are put to use in the settlement data analyze, compare two measures' advantages and disadvantages in the project practice, and the measure of polynomial fitting is more coincide with the trend of deformation.
