The cavity is the one of the most important component of the RF system of the cyclotron. In the accelerator, the RF electric field from which charged particles get energy is generated by the RF cavity. The performance of the RF cavity has a direct impact on the RF accelerating system, also has a great impact on the performance of cyclotron. This dissertation is concerned with the modeling simulation and numerical calculus of the RF cavity on a cyclotron virtual prototyping platform, the coupling ways between the cyclotron cavity and the RF power source are researched, and the theories and methods of measuring RF parameters are also analyzed and researched. The working principle of cavities is introduced, and main parameters of cavities are analyzed, such as resonant frequency, quality factor etc. The development of cyclotron cavities and basic methods used to analyze and design cyclotron cavity are introduced. With the development of numerical calculus and computer technology, the numerical calculus technology is becoming the main technical method in cyclotron cavities design.Numerical calculus of CYCIAE-30 cavity has been carried out. The influences on the RF resonant frequency and the quality factor have been investigated into. Compared with the known data, the result of numerical calculus shows that the software ANSOFT HFSS is useful in the analysis of cyclotron RF cavities. By simulating and analyzing the 10MeV cyclotron cavity, ANSOFT HFSS verifies that the design drawings of the 10MeV cyclotron are right. The power coupling ways of the RF cavity, inductance coupling and capacitor coupling, are analyzed separately. The RF parameters of the 10MeV cyclotron wood model cavity are measured. The theories of measurement are analyzed, and some measurement methods are given and possible sources of error are discussed.
