With the development of the national economy, the construction of railway traffic system has been reached a new climax in present period. At the same time, the influence of vibrations caused by railway traffic system on surrounding environment has been increased and paid close attention to.In this paper, the propagation of train-induced vibrations and their influence rules in the surrounding free field and building are systematically analyzed. The path 3-D model in this paper is established by finite element method software of ANSYS.The responses of free field under the moving train on viaduct are analyzed in detail and the propagation characteristics of vibration in the ground are concluded. The basic laws of viaduct railway traffic induced vibration on surrounding buildings of different structural characteristics(slab thickness and Porosity, column section size) are summarized briefly. At the same time, the field experiments and the numerical simulations were performed to study the train-induced vibration of buildings, and some valuable conclusions were obtained. The basic laws of viaduct railway traffic induced vibration on surrounding buildings of different structural characteristics are summarized briefly, and some valuable conclusions are obtained, which may have important engineering significance.
