100% low-floor vehicle technology on behalf of the international most advanced technology of low-floor light rail vehicles (LRV). Traction drive is a key component of low-floor light rail vehicle system, which ensures LRV to be safe and reliable in operation.Firstly, this paper introduces the LRV traction drive system, and then focused on studying vector control of LRV traction motor which based on rotor field-orientation and test system of the LRV traction drive. This paper introduced the coordinate transformation theory, derived in detail by rotor induction motor under field-oriented mathematical model, proposed an indirect vector control strategy of traction motor, and introduced the basic principles and SVPWM algorithm. On this basis, the use of Matlab/Simulink simulation model built on a variety of working conditions of induction motor simulation, in order to further study and lay a good foundation. In this paper, the design of a DSP TMS320F2812 as the core, FPGA supplemented full-digital traction motor control system is proposed. The hardware implementation, protection strategies and protection classification of control system were also introduced. And then software architecture and design, the main modules of vector control software implementation of the system were given. Finally, inverter - fed induction motor test system interoperability based on double public DC bus is introduced. And then the joint control strategy based on speed closed-loop of the traction motor, torque closed-loop of load motor is proposed. And using dynamic load torque estimation as the method of the test system dynamic adjustment process, Simulation and experimental results show that the test system has good static and dynamic performance.
