Expansive soil is a special clay soil, its particularity displays in: water swelling softening, waterless shrinking crack ,and the strength fluctuated very big along with moisture content. And high peak strength,low residual strength , meanwhile holding(possess) overconsolidation and more fissure. Its mineral ingredient is mainly included strongly hydrophilia montonorillonite and illite . Due to the significant swell-shrink characteristics of the expensive soil along with moisture content change, it cause hugh threat on the aspect of construction,railroad,airport,and hydraulic work in the expansive soil area. Simultaneously this threat becomes more serious along with the rapid development of engineering construction. Therefore it has aroused enormous interest in rock and soil field and become an important research topic.The deformation and shear strength parameters of expansive soil are studied from two kinds of experiment that is expansive deformation experiment and shear strength experiment.Destrcution mode and deformation behaviors of expansive soil cutting slope are studied by FLAC software,combined with moisture field stress theory,according to fitted equation of expansive soil test dataThis article analyse the destructive mode and deformation behavior under the no reinforcement condition firstly according to fitted equation of expansive soil test data, using moisture stress field theory and FLAC software; then analyzing the surface horizontal displacement,internal displacement,tension of grate of the reinforced expansive soil cutting slope, getting the conclusion about deformation character under have and no swelling power, this article also considered the effect of reinforced expansive soil cutting slope under different modulus factor of grate and getted the conclusion that using geogrid grille reinforcement expansive soil can increase the stability of the expansive soil cutting slope and prevent superficial layer pull-type destruction .
