The paper analyses several digital busbar protection which severing now, and on the basis of that, a set of new protection scheme is presented. The device adopts high-performance hardware platform, which is composed of 32-bit embedded microcontroller and 16-bit DSP and 16-bit ADC. The device adopts real-time operating system, and on the basis of that, software can be programmed according to modularization. The new scheme of TA saturation identification can detect accurately the most serious situation when there are 3ms between TA saturation and external fault. Busbar differential protection is composed of the power frequency change component and the traditional percentage differential component, which improves the reliability, and the whole out time is less than 15 ms. The new scheme of busbar run mode identification combines the advantages of the introduced auxiliary contacts of switch and the current identification. The device can satisfy the requirement of power system, and suit for above 110kv voltage grade busbar system, on the basis of dynamic simulate test and test run.
