As the problems related to energy and environmental issues emerging, wind power is drawing more attention than before. However, due to the high cost and intermittent nature, wind power is not as competitive as regular energy. Besides, the integration of wind power has a negative effect on the power system and thus has been isolated from electricity market. This paper discusses the characteristics of renewable support schemes and the influences on forward markets, balancing markets and system planning etc. It analyses the effectiveness of application of support schemes on wind power and provides incentives for China's wind power market. This paper also proposes the pricing mechanism of wind power and found that the MCP calculated without the wind power is the most suitable price for wind power commercialization. This research is expected to be guide line for policy makers in setting up renewable market in China.
