Voltage Source Converter based HVDC (VSC-HVDC) will be used on wind farm interconnection, when ground fault was occurted in the system, it can maintain the stability of the system, and realize the wind turbine do not run off network. In addition to the traditional HVDC, disturbances take place in the side of the system or emergency power support, it will lead to commutation failure of inverter when using the traditional methods of reactive power compensation; In this paper, wind farm will be used by VSC-HVDC interconnection to the original HVDC, then compose a double-fed HVDC system, after that, regulation of reactive properties is researched, and from both qualitative and quantitative point of view that the capacity of the VSC-HVDC sub-system doesn't need too much to meet the requirements of reactive support. The simulation results show that, VSC-HVDC sub-system can support reactive power for HVDC sub-system quickly, and maintain the system voltage stability, so it is effectively to inhibit the occurrence of commutation failure.
